Numerical Modeling for the Effect of Soil Type on Stability of Embankment

Dike construction has been widely used because of its potential to protect people and properties from overtopping flows. Water levels may exceed a dike crest cause flow during high river discharge. This phenomenon caused serious damage the body due reduction soil shear strength. The increase water content within particles relationship with development breach channel failure in downstream upstream slopes are affected by series geotechnical hydraulic aspects. Transient seepage slope stability analyses (FOS) were performed this study using 2D finite element methods time-history measurements under effect sandy very silty sand soils. numerical model SLIDE 2018 was limited inability incorporate all physical processes governing an failure. Numerical simulate pore pressures at six positions dike’s experimental tests van Genuchten Equation limit equilibrium method. results revealed that fine pressure reduce FOS.
